The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled....
Raising Questions rather than answering them - opens doors in places children could not imagine.
Knowing About Us As Inventors
By identifying the need for a distinctive Early Learning Centre in Newport and the surrounding suburbs, and having lived in the area for several years we wanted to offer a state of the art kindred Early Learning Centre on the location of which previously was our first family home. Everyone is Welcome, so Welcome Home everyone! 😊
Our Philosophy
Inventors of the Future (IOTF) believes that each family is unique in their beliefs, structure, and accomplishments and acknowledges that they are their child’s first teachers. We strive to create an environment that reflects this diversity in a warm, inviting, and stimulating atmosphere which feels like an extension of the home. We encourage and support families to share their personal journeys with us, which we believe supports a sense of belonging for children and their families.
Starting at a Young Age
We strongly believe that Early Childhood is the fundamental foundation for future life skills and further learning. Establishing a secure and consistent environment for children to become collaborators in their own learning discoveries bestows a sense of ownership, accomplishment, and enthusiasm. To support this, our classrooms present educational and nurturing environments in which we provide opportunities for children to be independent learners and encourage uninterrupted time for investigation and play. Our programs support and incorporate each individual child’s needs and abilities through open-ended experiences that are a combination of intentional teaching and child-initiated learning.
Our name reflects our aims for children to be empowered to become the future inventors of the world by introducing natural inquisitiveness and curiosity, which can be harnessed to increase early understanding of scientific concepts and so lay the foundations for future learning about the living world.
Our Role
Our curriculum reflects the Learning Outcomes of the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework with a focus on Identity, Communication, Learning, Well-being, Connection and Contribution. We appreciate and recognise the hard work of our team of qualified, motivated, and dedicated Educators who formulate and implement educational programs with visions for children’s learning that create a sense of belonging, allow for a child to be in the moment and create opportunities for children to become confident learners.
We strive to maintain strong relationships with our local community to ensure that their needs are fully embedded into the daily operations. We encourage our educators and children to be an active part of this community with respect and care for the natural environments that surround our service. Feel free to connect with us for more information.
Our Programs
Our management team and educators strive to provide a warm, secure environment focusing on building strand and trusting relationships with children. We foster respectful and open communication with families to facilitate children’s learning and development. Our curriculum is play-based and emergent. Children learn best when they are comfortable and experience activities that are meaningful to them. By supporting and extending their interests and strengths, children develop confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning, thus becoming “Inventors of the Future.”
Our Teaching Approach
It is important for children to be engaged with the world around us and for us to work closely with community networks within our area. As part of our child care services, incursions and excursions provide many opportunities for your child to connect with their world and broaden their experiences. We will do this through:
01
Excursions
Through our Community Links program, and children take part in outings and excursions around our local community, including parks and school visits.
02
Incursions
Are held throughout the year based on the children’s interests. These may include educational wildlife, pet awareness program, and local indigenous elders.
03
